If your garage will open but not close, check for misaligned or blocked sensor eyes. They will be located near the floor on both sides of your garage's vertical track. Check the LEDs are solid, clean the front to remove dust or debris, and align them.

Why do I have to buy a Battery Backup Opener in California?

California Senate Bill 969, signed into law September 21, 2018 and effective date starting July 1, 2019 requires newly sold residential garage door openers to have a battery backup. This also means Easy Lift Door Company cannot legally fix or connect non-battery backup openers to garage doors we service or install.

We carry both Genie and Liftmaster Openers in compliance with this law.

Can you do same day service calls?

Unfortunately we are not an emergency service company, our schedule usually starts a week out iff we have the product you need in stock, otherwise we can order it.

Can you replace my spring?

Yes we do spring changes. Springs are highly specific to your doors weight, if we don’t have a suitable spring in stock, we will order it for you. We install both Torque Master and Torsion Springs.

What are my customization options?

We don’t paint garage doors. We do have a blog with recommendations of how it can be done. If you are a builder please contact your painter.

How do I style my garage door?

When ordering a garage door take a look at the window and panel options offered for your door model. Under Our Products you can find a brochure on your door model and its options.

Why should I know what R-Value is?

R-value represents the thermal efficiency of your garage door’s insulation, keeping your garage cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The higher the number the better insulation it provides.

How do I purchase a remote?

Please contact our customer support via telephone or our contact form.

For Genie openers, we carry remotes compatible with the 1128, 2128, 3120, and the 6170.

For LiftMaster openers, we carry LiftMaster Max remotes which will work with any model.

How do I program a remote?

Please watch our quick videos to see how easy it is. If you want to program multiple remotes repeat the steps in the video with each remote. LiftMaster Remotes. Genie Remotes.

How long is my warranty?

Our warranty depends on the work we do for you. Motors or Openers have their own warranty ranging from 4 years to a lifetime depending on the model. Labor services performed last for 1 year.

I want to buy a garage door, can I get an estimate?

Yes, we will first need to know the size, style, or if you are looking for a custom garage door before we can provide you with an accurate quote.

Why won’t my garage close?

If your garage will open but not close, check for misaligned or blocked sensor eyes. They will be located near the floor on both sides of your garage's vertical track. Check the LEDs are solid, clean the front to remove dust or debris, and align them. See our video about sensor eye issues here.

My Garage Door is Squeaky

Video on our Youtube

To eliminate squeaks and groans on your doors it's easy to pick up a can of lubricant and apply it to all the hinges and rollers in your garage. Use a towel to catch and wipe away excess, to keep drips off your door. Most importantly, do not use WD-40 as it is actually a degreaser and will strip away lubrication.

If your door continues to groan or seems to be shifting and jumping in the tracks then your door will need to be evaluated by a garage door technician. As it may require tension to be removed from the garage door springs and the opener disconnected.

Opening a Garage without Power

Video on our Youtube

First determine if you have a battery backup opener which can open and close your garage even if your home has lost power. If your battery backup cannot open your garage or you don’t have one, then look for the red cord hanging on the opener track in the middle of your garage door. (Warning- it is dangerous to disengage the door from the track when the door is in the open position. Without proper spring tension the door may come down fast and not stop until it hits the ground, damaging the door or injuring anyone under it.) Pull straight down to disengage the door from the track. You can then lift the garage door from the bottom or by any handles on the door. If you have slide locks on your garage make sure to disengage them before attempting to open the door.

Be careful not to close the door while outside as when the trollies realign the door will again be locked to the track. To learn about the lock-out modes please watch our video linked above.
