Warranty Policy
Last updated: September 10, 2026
Welcome to Easy Lift Door Company. We stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship and are committed to providing reliable service. Please review our comprehensive warranty terms and conditions below.
Manufacturer Warranty
All products sold and installed by Easy Lift Door Company are covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty. Each manufacturer sets its own terms, durations, and procedures for claims.
- Customers are responsible for retaining all product documentation and, when applicable, registering the product to activate manufacturer coverage.
- Easy Lift will provide relevant warranty information upon request.
Note: Easy Lift Door Company is not responsible for decisions made by manufacturers regarding warranty approvals or denials. We will assist with warranty claims only to the extent permitted by the manufacturer.
Easy Lift Labor Warranty
We warrant the workmanship of our installation and service work for a period of 1 year from the date of final service completion or close of escrow.
- Builder Installs: Coverage begins on the later of the close of escrow or final completion.
- Homeowner Services: Coverage begins on the service completion date.
- This warranty covers proper installation, securement, alignment, and configuration of garage doors, openers, and associated components, unless otherwise stated (see Service Warranties and Warranty Exclusions).
- This warranty applies equally to full installations and standalone services (such as spring replacements, cable changes, and full-door adjustments) unless otherwise noted on the invoice.
- This warranty covers labor only and does not extend or override any manufacturer’s product warranty.
- Warranty repairs do not extend or restart the original warranty period. Labor on specific rework is covered for 30 days from the rework date.
Motor Warranty Process
Garage door motor warranties are split into two categories.
Easy Lift Warranty (1 Year)
If the motor is within Easy Lift’s 1-year labor warranty period:
- Easy Lift will replace the motor at no charge to the customer.
- Easy Lift will fully handle the replacement process and resolve the issue internally.
Manufacturer Warranty (After Easy Lift Warranty Expires)
If an issue arises after Easy Lift’s 1-year warranty period, manufacturer warranties may apply. The customer is responsible for contacting the manufacturer for all warranty requests unless they are still covered under Easy Lift’s 1-year workmanship warranty. For additional assistance, fees may apply.
Genie Motors
- Eligibility is determined using the first few digits of the motor’s serial number or the documented date of installation.
- Customers must first speak with a Genie representative to confirm warranty status.
- If a customer requests an inspection before confirmation, Easy Lift will perform a free warranty inspection. Any additional warranty appointments after the first inspection will be subject to a $45 fee.
- The technician will provide a written report so the customer can document the findings, and the customer may then call Genie directly using that report.
- If covered under Genie’s warranty, Easy Lift will install the replacement part or motor for a warranty labor charge of $249.
- If not covered, standard billable service rates apply for repair or replacement options.

- Eligibility is determined by the manufacture date or documented date of installation, alongside confirmation with LiftMaster by the customer or technician.
- Customers must first speak with a LiftMaster representative to confirm warranty status.
- If an inspection is requested prior to confirmation, Easy Lift will perform a free warranty inspection. Any additional warranty appointments after the first inspection will be subject to a $45 fee.
- The technician will provide a written report so the customer can document the findings, and the customer may then call LiftMaster directly using that report.
- If covered under LiftMaster’s warranty, Easy Lift will install the replacement part or motor for a warranty labor charge of $249.
- If coverage has expired or the customer does not qualify, standard billable service rates apply for repair or replacement options.

Service Warranties
Specific service types carry dedicated workmanship warranties.
- Sensor Programming: 60-day warranty, limited to workmanship-related issues only. Misalignment, physical obstruction, or customer-inflicted damage is billable. Completion photos are taken during service to document alignment.
- Minor Adjustments and Lube-and-Tune: Includes spring tension adjustments, door balancing, lubrication, limit adjustments, cable reattachment, and hinge tightening (excluding part replacements). Backed by a 90-day warranty, after which issues become billable at standard rates.
- Remote and Keypad Programming: 90-day workmanship warranty. Issues caused by new third-party devices, Wi-Fi or router changes, or customer modifications are billable. Note: Easy Lift does not provide in-vehicle HomeLink programming or Wi-Fi and MyQ setup due to privacy policies; these must be resolved directly with the opener manufacturer.
- Standalone Opener Programming: 90-day warranty. Additional reprogramming requested beyond this period is billable.
Conditions That Void Warranty
The labor warranty is strictly voided under the following conditions:
- Any service, adjustment, or repair performed on the covered system or component by another company, contractor, or third party without Easy Lift’s prior consent (voided for the affected component only).
- Any modification or alteration of the original installation or system components by unauthorized individuals.
- Customer neglect, misuse, or failure to perform standard system maintenance (including lack of lubrication, improper use, or ignoring manufacturer maintenance guidelines).
- Customer interference with garage door systems (including unauthorized attempts to reprogram remotes or motors).
- Damage resulting from accidents, external impact, abuse, environmental events, or electrical surges unrelated to our workmanship.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear. Components such as springs, cables, rollers, weatherstripping, remotes, batteries, and light bulbs. Parts that wear normally are excluded unless covered by a manufacturer warranty. Labor to correct our installation workmanship remains covered per the stated term.
- Cosmetic issues or minor surface damage that do not impact operational performance.
- Environmental or structural damage (wind, flooding, fire, or foundation shifts). This also includes sunlight interference for opener sensors.
- Electrical issues or malfunctions entirely unrelated to our installation work.
- Damage caused by pests or animals.
- Damage caused by other independent trades (construction crews, painters, framers, and similar).
- Damage that was unreported prior to the close of escrow on new home builds.
- Misuse, excessive operating force, or pest- and animal-induced misalignment and damage.
Customer Responsibilities
To maintain full warranty eligibility, customers must:
- Perform regular preventative maintenance (visual checks and periodic lubrication).
- Operate garage doors and openers strictly in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Promptly report issues as they arise. Delaying reporting is classified as customer neglect.
- Retain original invoices or service records as proof of purchase. If lost, Easy Lift will attempt to look up records internally.
Post-Warranty Service
Requests for service after the expiration of the 1-year labor warranty, specific service warranties, or involving non-covered conditions will be billed at Easy Lift Door Company’s standard rates. Current standard rates and trip charges are available upon request and noted directly on invoices.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Easy Lift’s liability is strictly limited to correcting defective workmanship or replacing affected components. Easy Lift Door Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including project delays, loss of use, or secondary property damage.
Warranty Inspections
If a customer claims an issue is covered under the standard Easy Lift or manufacturer warranties, Easy Lift will assist with the process as follows:
- Still covered by the 1-year workmanship warranty: Free inspection and, where possible, correction of the issue on-site.
- No longer covered by the 1-year workmanship warranty: The first inspection is free. Secondary inspections after the first visit are billable at standard trip charge rates.
- Warranty inspections include diagnosis and reporting only. Corrective adjustments or repairs performed during the inspection that fall outside the warranty scope are billable.
- Customers are notified of diagnostic findings and estimated costs prior to any billable repairs.
- Additional trip charges may apply for inspections outside Easy Lift’s standard service area.
- For builder warranty inspections, a valid purchase order (PO) number and required documentation must be provided prior to scheduling.
- Repeat warranty inspections for the same issue are subject to additional charges if the underlying cause is determined to be customer neglect, interference, or misuse.
Acknowledgment of Terms
By signing a service agreement or accepting installation and repair services from Easy Lift Door Company, the customer acknowledges, understands, and agrees to these warranty terms and conditions.
